bird's eye maple unit - click to enlarge

These 'bird's eye maple' wardrobe units were a private commission for our clients' dressing room. They were very keen on the French Empire Style and wanted the units designed to complement the Beidermeier pieces which they had throughout their home. This furniture - made of highly polished woods and trimmed in ebony - was the inspiration for the wardrobe units.

Custom-made in MDF and installed by an Edinburgh cabinetmaker, they were then painted by us.

These wooden lamp bases painted in a blue john marble effect were part of a larger commission for the Dorchester Hotel, London. Other pieces included table tops painted to look like malachite mica and a set of chairs painted in a bamboo style.

Victorian trompe l'oeil cupboard - click to enlarge

Example of a wooden mantelpiece painted to look like Italian brecciated Sienna type marble.

The fireplace originally had a natural wood appearance, but had been badly stained. The Sienna marble was chosen as it worked well with the surrounding wallpaper.
